East Java Christian Church (GKJW) in cooperation with Wadah Foundation sent 3 vicars (Galina Fendi Viaris C, Noven R Nataniel and Devina Widiningsih) to stay in a number of Wadah communities from 1 April 2016-28 May 2016 as part of the vicar program.
This activity aims to prepare prospective vicars of GKJW to have an awareness of human values and social sensitivity as well as to have a resolute character. The 3 vicars lived in and interacted for two months with the communities in PKMW Penjaringan, Kampung Beting, Bekasi Kaum, Warabal Parung, Cibodas Lembang and Arjasari.
This is the first cooperation between GKJW and Yayasan Wadah Titian Harapan which makes a positive impact, especially for the vicars who would be appointed to their own communities soon. It is hoped that such cooperation will continue. At the end of the immersion program, they shared testimonies of their experiences and lessons learned - how people who live in difficult situations and limitations, still continue to care for others. From this immersion program, they have now opened their hearts to the true meaning of a true service to the community.
