On February 25, 2014, Mrs. Anie Hashim Djojohadikusomo, the Founder of Wadah Foundation, inaugurated Apotek Wiwied Farma as a part of Ibu Wiwied’s Clinic in Cibodas Village, Lembang, West Java. On the same occasion, Mrs. Anie also inaugurated the opening of the Cibodas Wadah Community Center (PKMW).
Wiwied, the midwife who runs the clinic, not only provides medical services to the grassroots communities in Cibodas village, but is also active in conducting education programs for pre-school children and performance art activities for primary school kids. Wadah Foundation has been actively supporting the activities of this rural community organization.
Cibodas community has so far enjoyed great benefits from the clinic, the pharmacy (Apotek Wiwied Farma) as well as the community center (PKMW) in their village. The inauguration ceremony, which was attended by a number of community leaders and village officials, as well as residents of Cibodas Village, was also enlivened by performances of rampak gendang (percussion music performance) and jaipong (traditional dance) performed vigorously by the children from Cibodas community.
The Cibodas Wadah Community Center (PKMW Cibodas) was the first of the Wadah communities to be inaugurated to bear the name of the newly formed, PKMWadah. This year, Wadah Foundation is planning to revitalize its community programs, the first step of which is having a more unified identity for all assisted communities - PKMWadah (Pusat Kegiatan Masyarakat Wadah or Wadah Community Center).
