Arsari Djojohadikusomo Foundation (YAD) and Wadah Titian Harapan Foundation (WADAH) inaugurated the new space of the Wadah Community Activity Center (PKMW) Al-Hidayah on Tuesday (28/7) in Rusunawa Muara Baru, North Jakarta Penjaringan. The ceremony was not only attended by the occupants of the public housing, but also present were the Village Chief (Lurah) of Penjaringan, Mr. Suranta, S. Sos, other religious leaders and community leaders of Penjaringan. Even members of the House of Representatives Commission VII, Aryo Djojohadikusomo, attended the said humble event.
The occupants of the building enthusiastically welcomed the availability of proper educational facilities for their children which were built through a joint effort between the Wadah Foundation and the Arsari Djojohadikusomo Foundation (YAD).
The new activity center of PKMW Al-Hidayah, located in Block 9, was officially inaugurated by the YAD Chairman, Mr. Hashim Djojohadikusumo by signing the commemorative plaque of the place and with the traditional cutting of the rice cone by the Advisory Board members of the Wadah Foundation together with Mrs. Anie Hashim Djojohadikusumo.
The activity center of PKMW Al-Hidayah occupies two parallel sides of the ground floor of Apartment Building Block 9 in Muara Baru. The north side of the building consists of a spacious multi-purpose room, an infirmary, a warehouse, a toilet and a place specifically for wudu. On the south side of the building is the space for PAUD or pre-school activities, library, administrative office and a toilet.
Hasan Azhary, the coordinator PKMW Al-Hidayah, said in his speech that he hopes that the people of Muara Baru would care for the new building as it has now become their property and thus should have the sense of responsibility to maintain the proper upkeep of the facilities provided. In the same occasion, the Village Chief, Mr. Suranta, also delivered a similar message to the people to encourage them to help on a regular basis in maintain cleanliness in the area and also in the neighborhood.
