Wadah Kupang Holds "Family Holiday", Nature Walks and Gotong Royong

As a way of taking full advantage of the long holiday due to the celebration of "Idul Fitri" or "Eid'l Fitr," Wadah Kupang held a "Family Holiday" by conducting free health services and having fun activities for the children to enjoy. The activity lasted 3 days (6-8 July 2016) which saw the participation of a number of Wadah volunteers, REWIN Kupang alumni and about 21 Friends of Wadah (ranging from kids to adults).

Nature Walks or Visits were also conducted (orange plantation, protected forest & beach) in Mnelalete village, in the outskirts of Soe City), Oebubuk Village in Kapan and Kolbanu Beach in the District of South Timur, Nusatenggara.

Aside from providing health services (conducted by the Health Team of REWIN Kupang), this "Family Holiday" was made more fun through singing, playing and educational games with the children in the villages. Also, in keeping up with the Indonesian tradition of "Gotong Royong" or "mutual Collaboration," everyone contributed in cleaning the Kolbanu Beach which was full of trash from irresponsible visitors that left the beach in such a state. Leaving the beach in such a condition ruins the uniquely beautiful Kolbanu beach which is normally filled with colorful stones aside from the sand.

The main purpose of this activity is to strengthen the bond among the Wadah volunteers as a family and also to build a close relationship with the communities that show their concern for the environment.
